So it seems that my quest for PR greatness is slowly coming to a halt. I have been applying for jobs for over two years, I have probably been on about 5000 interviews and I've done more networking than the law should allow. At this point - I am just wondering what direction I should take. Sometimes I wonder, if Fashion PR is just a dream that will never be fulfilled.
Everyday all I do is read PR news, blogs and the discussion forums from Young PR Pros feeling like I am involved with the industry (which in a way I am), but then again I am not. I do freelance work part-time, but at the beginner(s) level of PR - its hard to prove yourself without people calling you a wanna-be.
So, a couple days ago I was contacted by a colleague in the Young PR Pros group about a PR position over at Baby Phat. The Public Relations Director - BJ Coleman is looking for a PR Coordinator. So of course I applied - over the past few days I have been communicating with Mr. Coleman back and forth and I cannot tell you how excited I am to even have a conversation with him. BJ Coleman is one of the hottest figures in Celebrity PR, he is a former TV host and Celebrity Personal Assistant. Awww how I dream to be in the shoes of Mr. Coleman one day. Funny how life works though - just when I was giving up, someone contacts me with this information. The crazy thing is - even though I know my chances of getting it is probably slim ( just keeping it real, not being negative) its crazy how I am consistently getting MAJOR contacts within the industry. Maybe this will lead to a job one day. For now I will continue to dream. :)

I MISS...........
My Cabbage Patch dolls. What the hell happened to them? Do you guys remember those dolls? I know I do. My favorite doll was the Pretty Crimp N Curl. I remember them selling out fast in the stores and I just had to have one. was so determined to get one that I pretended to be sick, so that I could stay home and call all of the local toy stores to put one on hold. When I finally found it, I begged my grandparents to drive clear across town to pick it up. That was one of the happiest childhood days ever. I loved to design clothes for my dolls, even purses. I changed their clothes and did their hair in different styles every day and took it to school. Those were the days!!
What jeans fit you?
I don't know about you guys, but I have the hardest time finding a good pair of jeans. They are either too long, too tight, or too low rise. I have to clear my calendar for the entire weekend to find a good fitting pair of jeans.
Ha Ha! Not anymore. I went to http://www.zafu.com/ and this website specializes in finding jeans to match you. Here's how it works - They ask you a few simple questions about the type of jeans you like, how your current jeans fit, and your body stats. After you finish answering the questions, the site goes through a large database of jeans to find the ones that match your fit. After you go through your personal fit review, you select the jeans you like and then it will take you to that retailer’s website to purchase your jeans. It’s that easy!!

Vanessa & Angela Simmons featured in Essence
My favorite celeb sisters Angela & Vanessa Simmons daughters of Reverend Run from Run DMC and the hit family show Run's House are featured in Essence Magazine. Check out the story:
Following in the footsteps of their family, so to speak, Angela and Vanessa Simmons are busy laying the foundation for the next Simmons empire. That’s right, the charming daughters of legendary hip-hop pioneer Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons of Run-DMC, have created a yummy new company called Pastry Footwear, which debuts this month. With Pastry, the Run's House reality show darlings now join a long line of Simmons sneaker tycoons, which includes their father (Run Athletics), their uncle Russell Simmons(Phat Farm sneakers) and aunt Kimora Lee Simmons (Baby Phat footwear). Still, these cool kicks have a flavor all their own. Named for the siblings’ love of baked treats, Pastry’s four distinctive sneaker styles —the Cake Collection— have tasty names to match: Chocolate Mousse (brown with pink), Red Velvet (red with white), Sprinkles (white with multicolored dots) and Strawberry Shortcake (pink with white). Each pair is sold in a cake box secured by a satin ribbon, and comes with a tube of lip gloss. (Could a cosmetics line be far behind?) Essence.com caught up with the busy design duo to learn how they won over a skeptical dad, and juggle being entrepreneurs while balancing college classes.
ESSENCE: Who came up with the concept of Pastry? Angela: When one of us comes up with an idea, the other will go, “Oh, I was just thinking that!”
Vanessa: There’s actually an episode of Run’s House where we’re having an all-nighter in the office, and you basically see the whole idea of the sneakers come together.
ESSENCE: What are some of the inspirations behind the line?
Angela: I bake a cake called confetti cake and one of the sneakers—Sprinkles—is inspired by this cake. These sneakers have a bunch of little dots on them, like the inside of the cake, and the cake has the same colors inside as the sneakers.
ESSENCE: Some people may not take you seriously as designers or business owners because of who your family is. What makes you guys different from someone like Nicky Hilton who has a handbag line?
Vanessa: We just happen to be in a really privileged position, which I thank God for every day. But we have to prove ourselves 20 times more to our family because our dad knows how quickly I can just say, “Oh, that was cool, but I’m over it.”
ESSENCE: Angela, you’re a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology and have a magazine called Angela’s RunDown. Vanessa, you’re a model and aspiring actress. How do you both manage to do so much?
Vanessa: Growing up, my father and uncle Russell definitely instilled their strong work ethic in us.
ESSENCE: What’s next for Pastry?
Vanessa: Expansion is key. We’d like to branch off and make Pastry a big empire the way Kimora took Baby Phat from a T-shirt and made it into everything. We already plan to launch boots this winter, but eventually we also want to create clothing, cosmetics and fragrances as well.

I love these Frankie B Jeans!
Oh how I love these Frankie B jeans! They are so hot!! I love the colorful design on the back pockets. I would love to buy a pair - but being a bargain shopper they are going to have to come down on that stiff price tag. I would love to rock these jeans with a sexy peep toe pump and a hot clutch bag.

I'm digging Elliott Lucca Handbags
I love Elliott Lucca handbags. I just became a brand new fan. This weekend I went to a local store in Columbus to do some spring shopping. I have had such a hard time trying to find handbags that I like because they are either too expensive or they look cheap. I am a budget shopper - so I am always looking for the best deals.
I must have went through over 400 bags this weekend to find what I call my own "It" bag. Well after months of searching I finally found it! I am so excited. I tried to look for a picture of the bag on the Internet and could not find it anywhere. It is a really cute white leather handbag, with gold accessories on it. The handle is woven with leather with more gold details. Its so sexy!! Check out their collection online www.elliottlucca.com.
