Spring & Summer Beauty Trends

A season of contrasts sees subtle shades and shimmers sitting side-by-side graffiti neons and power pigments on the make-up stands. Skin no longer needs to be sunkissed, as porcelain and peachy tones cross seamlessly from winter to summer, lifted with highlights and shimmer. Sixties style continues to make headlines with black-rimmed eyes and nude lips, while 80s-inspired pigments allow for a bolder take on spring/summer beauty.

Metallics

When fashion takes a trip into the future, beauty follows.
Metallic shades of make-up suit every skin – gold and bronze wow on warm tones while silver gives ice-queen edginess to cool complexions.
Give a flash of sparkle by applying metallic mascara to the end of lashes or line the eyes with a softly shimmering surround.

Monochrome:

White-washed skin and a black-lash backlash sees monochrome going mainstream.
Blanking down features defines rather than highlights, using shades and shadows rather than contrast to create interest.
Where shine can look trashy, matte is truly modern.

Neon:

Acid neons are ideal for the adventurous, but they don't only need to be for the beauty brave.
Splashes of graffiti inspired colours give added interest to nails. For a bolder look experiment with pinks and oranges worn on the lips and blues and greens on eyes.

New Nudes:

Barely-there doesn't have to mean boring thanks to the new-generation nudes.
Mineralised make-ups help to give a flawless foundation whilst peachy tones perk up winter-weary complexions.
Draw attention to the features with highlighted cheek and brow bones and softly shimmering lips.

Pinks:

From Barbie bold to pretty pastels, if there's one colour you should be wearing this season it's pink.
Olive skins provide the perfect canvas for bright shades of fuchsia whilst pale porcelain complexions are bought to life with a hint of pink.
Whether it's on eyes, lips or cheeks make sure you think pink for spring/summer.

Power Pigments:

Sixties:

The '60s vibe swings into spring/summer with inspiration from Sienna Miller in 'Factory Girl'.
Pale skin and nude lips are teamed with strong eyes. Lashings of liner is essential - team black rimmed eyes with white and pale grey shadows and strong brows.
Psychedelic packaging adds a burst of colours to these desirable makeup collections.
