The mother of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G. will launch a clothing line named after her son at the MAGIC Marketplace, a fashion trade event in Las Vegas that attracts the most influential designers and buyers in the business. Dubbed Notorious, the collection features apparel for men, young men and boys, all inspired by the culture, lifestyle, and diversity of the late-rapper’s Brooklyn hometown. “We are excited to launch the collection at MAGIC. The spring collection has been well received by the stylists, trendsetters, and celebrities that have had the opportunity to see the line. There have been many positive comments about the bold, vivid color schemes and innovative graphics,” says Rick Edwards, the line’s Director of Marketing.
B.I.G.’s mother, Voletta Wallace, will debut the label’s spring and fall 2007 collection at the event from Feb. 13 through 16. The line is currently available at many of the top specialty retailers across the country, including Downtown Locker Room, City Blues and J-Bee’s. Meanwhile, the 10th anniversary of B.I.G.’s death this year will see the March 6 release of “Notorious B.I.G Greatest Hits Album” from Bad Boy Entertainment, and production this summer on the upcoming Fox Searchlight feature film “Notorious,” produced by Mrs. Wallace, Wayne Barrow, Mark Pitts and Bob Teitel.
Let’s continue to support Biggie's memory - this would make a great gift for boyfriends, uncles & brothers.
