Eco Monday: Sandmaiden Eco-friendly Lingerie

Sigh. The end of summer is approaching really fast. I feel like I didn't even have a chance to really relax or take a vacation. Oh well. The good thing is fall is my favorite season of the year. The temperatures cool down and the leaves change to beautiful colors. This is the type of weather where I like to walk/jog during the day and curl up next to the fireplace at night.

Of course, the change in season means a change in wardrobe. Including sleepwear and lingerie.
Right now I am really diggin the eco-friendly lingerie made by Sandmaiden. Sandmaiden creates hand dyed lingerie that is sexy and comfortable. You can check out some of their great designs at www.sandmaiden.etsy.com. Let me know what you think!

Eco Mondays Spotlight: boho Green Fashion Magazine

I was checking out one of my favorite eco websites - Eco Chick (www.ecochick.com) and they were talking about a new green fashion magazine called Boho. Boho is a green fashion-lifestyle magazine founded on the freedom to express your own personal style and live the life you want. each issue offers the latest in fashion, beauty, and more, while inspiring you to help make a difference in the world by giving back and going green. Inside you'll find its content focuses on both the inner and outer you, infused with new ideas that will fill your spirit and empower you to put your own stamp on things while making the world a prettier place.

Boho is an eco-friendly publication. It's the first fashion magazine to be 100% recycled in their own paper, packaging and inks.

Boho is the brainchild of Editor-in-Chief Gina La Morte, founder of the award-winning website TheStyleDoctor.com, and one of the country's most sought-after style gurus. she is the first U.S. stylist to create her own American magazine. La Morte's expertise on fashion and style has been seen by millions on national television shows, including ABC's The View, CBS This Morning, Bravo/NBC, MTV and more. La Morte was also a celebrity stylist for clients such as O, The Oprah Magazine, People and People StyleWatch, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and more. as a fashion expert, she has been featured in hundreds of media outlets, including the Associated Press, America Online, Life & Style Weekly, OK!, Fitness and Women's World. a graduate of NYC's Fashion Institute of Technology, La Morte has also studied fashion in Paris, London and Milan.
La Morte currently resides in her favorite state of New Jersey with her husband and son. When she is not working, she can be found at the beach.

Thursday Shopping Report: Kohl's - not just for grandmas anymore

Who knew? Well I can't lie - I did. I've been shopping at Kohl's over the past couple of years and I have to say that they have really stepped their game up. Really. I used to hate when my mom would drag me into Kohl's when I was a kid. I always thought that was the place to go for linens, towels, and home stuff (Kohl's & JC Penney's). Nope - my feelings have changed.
Let's all be honest with ourselves, as much as we love designer clothes and expensive pieces, we can't afford to shop like that all the time. So when you really want to be stylish for less - you have to be a little creative.
One of the collections that I really love at Kohl's is the Elle Contemporary Collection. Created by the folks over at Elle Magazine, they decided to create a line that was trendy yet affordable. Really haute!! Check out some of my favorite finds:
Elle Ponte Crop Jacket - $32.99

Elle Crochet Babydoll top - $24.99

Elle Ruffled Blouse - $27.99

Elle Sirred Colorblock Dress - $18.99

Elle Smocked Drawstring Tank

Elle Smocked Colorblock Top - $24.99

Elle Side top - $24.99

Elle High Waist Jeans - On sale $8.80 (WOW)
Elle Pleated Skirt - $29.99
In addition to these great sales. If you sign up at http://www.kohls.com/ for sale alerts - they will send you an in store coupon for $5.00 off and an online coupon for 10% off.

Pink Diamond Spotlight: Guilt Groupe Online Sample Sale

In a few weeks I will be going to Chicago for a few days for my boyfriend's birthday. We have a whole list of events that we are likely going to attend and so of course - I have to look my fabulous best! Since I never like to pay full price for anything - let me say that again - since I NEVER pay full price for anything I knew I had to find a way to get an invitation to Gilt Groupe so that I can get some great deals on designer stuff for less.

Slightly new to the online sample sale world is the absolutely fabulous Gilt Groupe. You'll definitely want to check this site out -- I've been dying for every single item offered on the site for days! Here's how it works: every day an email is sent to members only to let you know what's on sale. Each sale lasts for 48 hours, though many items sell out within the first two hours. Top designers like Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Gryson, Badgley Mischka and Alice + Olivia come up day after day, and the prices really are fantastic. (I found some haute Kate Spade shoes for $100) This is guilt free shopping at it's best!!! The best thing is you can buy stuff for men, women & children.

Since Gilt Groupe is super exclusive you have to be invited by a VIP member of the group. Guess who's a member? That's right! Pink Diamond always has the hook up on everything exclusive. Leave a comment with your name and email address and like always I will DELIVER (the invite that is).

Eco Monday: Actress Kerry Washington talks about living a "green life" in Elle magazine

A PIONEER OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT BEFORE HE COULD VOTE, DANNY SEO NOW HELPS FRIENDS LIKE ACTRESS KERRY WASHINGTON FIND STYLE WITH A CONSCIENCE

When actresses hit it big, who can blame them if the first item on their agenda is a shopping spree: Think platinum card, Fred Segal, a wait-listed croc megabag. But Kerry Washington has a different vision for her world. In 2004, after her role as the long-suffering wife in Ray catapulted her into the limelight—leading to covetable roles in The Last King of Scotland, I Think I Love My Wife, and Fantastic Four (whose latest installment, Rise of the Silver Surfer, will be released this June)—she picked up the phone and called eco-stylist Danny Seo.

"I stalked him," she says with a laugh. "I'd seen his book Conscious Style Home, and I said, 'This person and I should be friends.' As my life and career were expanding, I wanted to do everything in as conscious a way as possible." Raised to be environmentally sensitive by her parents—"I spent my summers in upstate New York chasing salamanders and frogs and fireflies"—Washington was an early Prius driver; next, she wanted to take a hard look at her wardrobe and house. "I wanted my environment to match who I am, and who I am is someone who values honoring and protecting the planet.

"She called the right person. Ever since founding the organization Earth 2000 at 12—when most kids his age were still obsessed with Nintendo—29-year-old Seo has become the go-to person for organic-lifestyle advice. "Whenever someone has a question about how to make their lives environmentally sound, I send them to Danny," Washington says.

"I'm the green version of a Scientologist," Seo quips.

He's dressed Eva Longoria and Rosario Dawson in green fashions by Ralph Lauren and Koi; thrown eco-parties for his pal Stella McCartney's stores; and decorated the homes and gardens of stars such as Kelly Rowan. His Simply Green book series (Collins) and weekly Sirius satellite radio show are primers for making over your life in a way that's both elegant and environmentally sound. "A decade ago, green design was pretty much an oxymoron," Seo explains.

"Today, it's a different game: Everything from furniture to candles is being made using sustainable materials in the most beautiful colors and scents and designs."Washington's home—a two-year work in progress—is a case in point. Her walls have been painted with Benjamin Moore eco-friendly colors, her television is an energy-efficient Sharp plasma, her furniture is made from organic and recycled materials—including a rocking chair crafted from factory-reject seat belts and an armchair covered with baby blue hemp linen—and even her blinds are sustainable bamboo.

Haute Styles & Haute Sales on Hautelook.com

I am really digging a club that I was just invited to called Haute Look. HauteLook is a club which organizes exclusive 12-48 hour online private sales of premium fashion and luxury lifestyle brands. Prior to each sale an invitation is sent out to each member announcing brands and sale dates. Now you can access celebrity styles for a fraction of the cost.

What makes Haute Look different from any other site is that they have a cool online magazine that gives the most up to date info on fashion news, trends and more. They can even tell you how to get a Celeb's look. Check out this article below:

Photo by Wire Image: Hayden Panettiere, Lauren Conrad, Fergie, Sophia Bush
"There were lots of gorgeous celebs at the Teen Choice Awards, but we particularly liked these four fashionistas who showed off their style sense in long dresses with bold prints. Hayden Panetierre chose a trendy watercolor wash; Lauren Conrad went for contrasting colors in a dress from her line; Fergie's bright Etro look complimented her summer tan; and Sophia Bush's soft floral Jenni Kayne dress was elegant and feminine. For a look like Sophia's check out tomorrow's Hautelook.com sale! "

Once again, I had the pleasure of being sponsored from one of my fellow fashion friends. If you'd like to be invited/sponsored - please drop me a comment with your email address and I will deliver!

Awwww.. life is so good being a Pink Diamond! Don't you agree?

Betsey Johnson celebrates 30 years in fashion

In true Betsey Johnson style, the designer toasted her 30th anniversary with a pink overload Thursday night at her SoHo store. Surrounded by friends and balloons, Betsey Johnson and her business partner Chantal Bacon blew out candles while enjoying a raucous rendition of "Happy Birthday." "We never thought of this!" the duo exclaimed in unison. "You work your ass off and you don't add it up!"

They weren't the only ones celebrating--Bee Shaffer stopped by before heading to her birthday dinner at Morandi. Meanwhile, guests nibbled on mini frozen treats--a welcome relief from the persistent heat--along with cotton candy and strawberry shortcake. Naturally, all were pink.
Thirty years in business is a serious milestone--but then again, so is a 30th birthday. So how did Johnson and Bacon celebrate theirs? "I can't talk about it!" cried Johnson. "I had a bad girl phase." Luckily, Bacon dished, recalling her party at the Mud Club, the same haunt where the pair launched the Betsey Johnson brand. "Betsey gave me a huge party there, and I blew out candles on a huge number 30 made of Twinkies!"

Looking forward to the upcoming Fashion Week, Johnson dished a little bit on her runway show. "Two grandchildren, another cartwheel and Betsey Betsey land!" she explained. "It's another little fantasy trip. We're resurrecting the vintage! It must be the eighties again--well, it feels like the eighties again."

SOLANGE KNOWLES IS NEW ARMANI JEANS AMBASSADOR

Perhaps following in her sister’s footsteps again, (Beyoncé signed on as the face of Armani's Diamonds fragrance last year) Solange Knowles, seen here recently in London, will soon be posing for the Armani Jeans campaign. Giorgio Armani had this to say about his new model in British Vogue, "Armani Jeans expresses my vision of a young, independent, casual lifestyle with a strong and cool, fashion sensibility. Solange epitomizes this style perfectly and brings to it that swing so evident in her new single, I Decided."

Eco Mondays: Kaight Fashion

Kaight, (NYC) A fabulous ecofashion boutique is offering 50% off their summer stuff- Right now is the best time to stock up on fly gear for the remaining summer months and next summer (especially if you purchase classic pieces) !My absolute fave item from Kaight - The shorts romper (shown above)! So easy to wear and so comfy! Kaight has a few different rompers, as well as cute dresses, tanks and more.

I am also really digging the cinch waist dress made by Burning Torch (shown below). It has a fun swing skirt and sexy deep-v neckline. Perfect for any shape!

Moody Mondays; Random Rants, Raves & Reviews - Would you spend $10,000 on a pair of jeans?

Yeah right! Even if I had $10,000 to blow - it probably wouldn't be on a pair of jeans. Unless they washed themselves everyday, gave me a banging bootay and I could wear them forever!
I never could understand why people would spend that much money on a clothing item - how many times could you really wear it? I would think only once - maybe twice!

These jeans are made by Key Closet and are premium denim (obviously), with over 1000 Swarovski crystals, and 1 carat diamonds on each back pocket. Wow! The good thing is that a whopping 30% of the price of the jeans will be donated to help build schools for kids in Kampala, Uganda. The donation from just one pair of jeans will go a long way.
If you really like them and have an extra $10,000 floating around - you can purchase them at eModa.com! Let me know how they fit!

The 80's called and they want their style back......

So my girl Razzi over at Pink Diamond's sister blog - Stylerazzi (http://www.stylerazzi.blogspot.com/) reports that the newest trend this fall is Ankle Strap Pumps and Stir-up pants. Yes you read it right - stir up pants. Of course we shouldn't be surprised, leggings came back with a bang so it's only right that stir ups make a re-entrance (if that's a word).

Check out the story:

So, as I reported a couple weeks ago, it looks like this whole "skinny jeans inside of your ankle strap pump" look is really about to be the trend of the fall. While browsing over at YBF, I spotted this photo of singer Cassie. Like we saw with Kim K the other week, Cassie also has her pump strapped over-top of her skinny jean! I think the look is cute and unique. There are a few different ways you can experiment with this look. I think I may attempt to try the high-waist skinny jean with a simple white tee, colorful scarf tied neatly around my neck (like monica) and matching pumps with the strap around my skinny jean!!!! What better way to collaborate all of the fall trends I have recently posted into one fabulously flawless look!!!!! I may even take it one step further and wear the pump ankle strap over top of some stirrup leggings or jeans!!!!!!!!! *thinks to self*......Girl, you are so creative!!!!!! LOL!!!!! Take a look below to get an idea of the correct type of pump to try this look at home with!!!
Thanks Razzi for the hot fashion tip and putting together the fly looks. I am really digging those shoes! Haute!!! If you want the latest news in fashion and gossip - please check out Stylerazzi at http://www.stylerazzi.com/.
